Phyllis Jean Ashley Holsclaw, 74, of St. Albans, passed away September 11, 2017, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1943, in Charleston and was the daughter of B. Orion and Charlotte Cox Ashley, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of St. Albans High School and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Marshall University, and a counseling certificate from the College of Graduate Studies. She also completed graduate hours from the University of Delaware.

She was a graduate of St. Albans High School and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Marshall University, and a counseling certificate from the College of Graduate Studies. She also completed graduate hours from the University of Delaware.

Phyllis was a professional counselor and instructor for W.Va. State College and Bridge Valley Community & Technical College. She was also a coordinator of the Jobs Training Partnership Act for the state of West Virginia. She was a member of Twin City Bible Church, Nitro.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Tim A. Holsclaw; sons, Bryan A. (Renee) Holsclaw of Yemassee, S.C., Steven A. (Karla) Holsclaw of Cross Lanes and Greg A. (Patti) Holsclaw of Lexington, Ky.; and grandchildren, Damien, Cameron and Collin Holsclaw, Katlyn Jackson, Deanna Baty, Stephen Baty, Jeff, Caroline, Ashley and Laura Holsclaw.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 14, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans. A celebration of Phyllis' life will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 15, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Flanagan officiating.

There will also be a service at Birch River Baptist Church from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. Friday. A procession will leave the church at 3:30 p.m. for interment in Cox Memorial Cemetery.
